Recovering Precedent Seat
I don't how this is going to go. I going to try to re cover a precedent seat using the original seat base. But I'm looking hard at a plywood base, so we'll see how it goes.
And you're not going to get it in 1 post. It's midnite in the Lowcontry and I'm going to try to get something done tonite, but not all. First thing is remove original seat cover. That's sum good glue, but nothing a heat gun can't handle. Apply heat to bottom side of seat, as it heats it will soften the glue so you can separate the cover from the base. Keep heat gun moving ahead to preheat, don't melt seat base. ,Took me about 10 minutes ,if you have a helping hand, it would take a couple minutes. I'm thinking the best thing to do is sew a form fit cover and re glue. That's enough for me tonite. I'm going to access the situation and research foam(I'm thinking memory foam) and sunbrella fabric . Muddog |
