Cart not charging 36v
It's an older Yamaha 36 volt that won't charge. When it was charging properly I could hear the charger bog down a bit when I hooked it up. The meter Needle on the charger would move to the other side while charging. What it does now is come on, I can hear the charger humming, but it doesn't bog down when I plug it in. The needle on the charger isn't moving at all, unlike before. The batteries are 8 months old. The cable from charger to cart use to get warm while charging too. I've been dilly dallying around checking resistance in some wires, i have 36 on my trusty volt meter when checking at ground on motor to positive on solenoid. Checked a couple fuses and all good. She's being a bit cantankerous tonight. The cart that is. Anybody care to share some thoughts?

Re: Cart not charging 36v
Cart to charger connection? You said it was getting warm, perhaps it is no longer making connection.

Re: Cart not charging 36v
Replaced female plug on cart thinking the same thing. No luck.

The backside of the timer switch gets pretty warm too.

Re: Cart not charging 36v
I have. There is juice when I test from back of the meter to some wires coming from the windings. The fuse on charger appears to be ok. WAG? Not very acronym savvy.

Re: Cart not charging 36v
I have 0 at male end of cord. I just checked the two connections with meter set at 50 and it doesn't even flicker. I'm guessing I should have at the minimum, 36 volts?

Re: Cart not charging 36v
Try finding where the same two wires connect inside the charger and test for voltage. Then you will know if the cord or the charger.
