Re: Club Car Precedent Problem
Is it not also true that a bad micro switch will prevent current flow to the solenoid? I would check these before blaming major components. Just trying to help.

Re: Club Car Precedent Problem
If it is anything like my set up, the controller receives a bit of power across the terminals from the resistor. That would not prevent the controller from powering up after go pedal is pushed. I would check the micro switches and make sure they are OK. They can cause the problem you are having. No power to solenoid. Or solenoid could be bad.

Re: Club Car Precedent Problem
Need to retrace since you have a DCX. When you first turn the key on the solenoid will click. It appears to go through a self test and after 3 to 5 seconds it de-energizes until you step on the pedal. More than likely that isn't corrosion on the resistor. Its where the resistor overheated and burnt up due to a shorted controller. Just my SWAG. If it's still under warranty you could be in for a big surprise.

Re: Club Car Precedent Problem
B-Alford2, my research is conflicting. Does your cart have a FNR switch that is activated by a lever or is it a push type "rocker" switch?

Re: Club Car Precedent Problem
OK. I'm not sure about that style of switch. Just seems to me that under your circumstances that I would not automatically assume the controller/and/or your batteries are toast. I believe you are not getting low voltage to activate the solenoid. That is where I would start.
However, I must defer to JJance and others when it comes to the system you are running. BTW. Micro switches are simple mechanical/electrical switches with 2 or 3 prongs that are activated (or de-activated) by physically moving them via a lever or by foot in older v-glide systems and such. |

Re: Club Car Precedent Problem
I would get out my volt meter and start checking voltages at the solenoid, controller, batteries cables to find out even if you have power at the controller, just remember your playing with 48 volts so set your meter to the right setting.
