Batteries for an 83 Club Car.
I bought an 83 electric Club Car 36 volt, I was told that the batteries were bought for a solar project but that never happened, they are about 4 yrs. old it has 6 U S Power U-225 batteries 6-volt 225 AH 115 RC MIN. I'm going to guess and say that they aren't really the right battery for ther appliciation they are being for any suggestions would help??

Re: Batteries for an 83 Club Car.
It runs, I tested the batteries last week tested @ 6-6.7 except 1 tested at 4.6 I know that maybe part of the power loss after 10-15 mins. of running, I guess even with 5 good batteries should power that that soon?

How old are the batts?
Pack volts ? At least replace the 4.6v one Running nor Charging will work well with that "weak link" the pack. |

One bad battery makes a huge change in power and run time.

Re: Batteries for an 83 Club Car.
Thank you for all of your responses. The odd thing ( to me ) is that even on the level if I have to stop or slowdown and I return to wanting power it isn't there it is very low power and then maybe it will regain some power but not the full power as when I started and this is all in a matter of anywheres from 5 mins. to 20 mins. I'll be getting a new battery next month hopefully that makes a difference.
