Default Convert 93 club car DS to controller

I have a 93 DS 36v resistor cart. Charger recently failed to shut off resulting in fried batteries. Rather than buy new batteries, I decided to try a home made lithium pack. The small and very light lithium pack has given this old cart new pep, so much so that I’m now wanting to ditch the energy wasting resistor setup and convert to a controller.
Can anyone point me to a kit to convert to controller? Do I need a new motor to do this? Any advise on converting v-glide or installing new throttle assembly? Thanks in advance for your expert advice.
Dennis

I did the same thing recently. Contact scottyb at carts unlimited. He will set you up with a great kit which is very easy to install and the results are incredible. I am using my original motor.

Please give more info on you're lithium setup. Looks interesting. What kind of battery packs are those?

I'd like to know more about the lithium pack also. I have done two of the solid state conversions from Scottyb. One on a Marathon and one on a DS. Both were a success.

Each small pack is made up of 20 18650 Lithium Ion cells. I currently have two banks of 10 of these small packs. So 400 total 18650 cellls. 10s for 37 volts nominal 42 volts max. The two banks weigh about 48 lbs total. So we have saved a bunch of weight. The cart seems LOTS quicker with the lighter weight cellls. Range is about 2/3 of the previous Trojan batteries.
I’m considering changing the setup to 14s to get 48 volts, but I have not been able to find any more of the 20 cell packs. I will be cleaning up the install as I convert to solid state system.
I also plan to add a BMS to make sure the pack doesn’t get overcharged or over drained.

What are the specs of the 18650s you are using? Are they high drain?

Thanks!

Without a BMS how have you been monitoring charging/discharging the pack? What kind of charger are you using? Top balanced or bottom balanced?

Sorry for all the questions
