Minimum tire profile recommendations
I have a 2006 Precedent that is pretty much stock except for HD leaf springs and a rear seat. I want to put 12" rims on it and I was wondering if anyone has a minimum tire profile I should buy. I want a 30 series tire but I am worried about the ride on our beat up Michigan roads. I would rather keep the cart low as everyone in my neighborhood has a lifted cart and I want to keep mine with the standard suspension except for maybe a 1" rise on the front with the block. Please advise
And thanks in advance for any input on this. |

Re: Minimum tire profile recommendations
You can install 215/40-12 with the 1" spring spacer. Will ride better than the 30. Those were on my cart before the lift addition.

Re: Minimum tire profile recommendations
I also use a 215/40-12 on my Precedent with no lift, I think the 30 profile is pretty hard on the rims.
You need a 3+4 or ET-10 rim to clear the front passenger fender well during a hard turn. |

Re: Minimum tire profile recommendations
Don't put 12 inch rims and no profile tires and expect a decent ride.

What offset are your wheels? I’ve found a set I like, but I don’t want them sticking out too far. I’ve done my research on fitments, but I can’t find any pictures. I’m looking at a 12” wheel with 2+5 offset. Anybody here running that setup without a lift? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Re: Minimum tire profile recommendations
They will stick 1.5" further out then the stock wheels.

Re: Minimum tire profile recommendations
Well said. I bought a stock height cart with 14’s and even lower profile tires. It looks really, cool and rides well on pavement. But hitting roots or anything taller than an inch on our golf carts paths are hell, unless you slow down to about 2mph. . Installing lift kit and 20’s this week.

Re: Minimum tire profile recommendations
Or you could get 10" rims and 20" tires.
