Default Precedent 48V speed upgrade

I have a 2012 Precedent w/ 3” lift, wheels etc. Batteries were brand new this summer. Next step I’d like to do is speed that baby up a bit, and looking for recommendations on the best method to do so. We mainly use it for tooling around the campground at the lake, and I do take it golfing. Will the different options for increasing speed affect how long a charge will last, or the life of the batteries? What i don’t want is for the cart to crap out on me on hole 15 because I just had to make it faster.

Any help is much appreciated.

Look here https://www.revolutiongolfcars.com/c...rs-and-magnets for speed options and reliability help....
Look here https://www.revolutiongolfcars.com/lift-kits for Lift Kit options.

Naturally the faster you go the more you will deplete your pack, but there is nothing you will find in the links provided that will deplete a new pack in 18 holes....

How fast do you want to go?

There are 4 factory speed codes for the stock controller. With stock tires, the top (private) speed code will go just under 20 mph. If you have larger tires, it will go just over 20. These must be change by someone with a programmer, and for the private speed code, club car must be contacted and they sell you that code.

Past that, you will need to change some or all of the following:

Controller
Motor
Gears
More voltage (additional battery or go LiPo)

To get the most out of higher voltage or a different motor, you need a better controller. Gears can be done without any other upgrade, but you will loose acceleration and hill climb power.

More speed will equal less range. As long as you don’t go crazy, you should easily get 18 holes out of a faster cart.

Thanks for the quick replies. I don’t have a target speed in mind, just want a little more oomph. I have the lift and 12” wheels with lo-pro turf tires, not sure the total diameter offhand. I should clock what my top end is now for reference. I haven’t done that yet.

Stock cart with good pack and 2ga cables will get you to 24mph with the addition of just a Plum Quick Bandit motor and a 200 amp solenoid. Range will easily be 20 miles with decent torque .

ND_Golfer,

Are you using the cart in hilly terrain or is it primarily flat?

Primarily flat. No major hills to speak of.

The XCT300IQ would give you what you're looking for. The 300 and the 400 are gonna be about the same speed-wise, but the 400 will give you more torque. If it's primarily flat you're not really gonna need the added torque unless you're running some really tall and heavy tires.
