Ok is that case also check this. Make sure the solenoid clicks each time you step on the go pedal. Thinking maybe a welded solenoid.

Seems like a lot has been covered, check to make sure cart rolls easy when in tow. Could be brakes dragging at times. Next those big cables on the batteries could seem tight but not have good contact, maybe a loose battery. If all this is good your motor is likely going south.

I agree, as I had a similar problem with my OEM motor.

Disconnect the F1, F2, A1, and A2 leads at the motor. Jack up one rear wheel. Connect an ohm meter, preferably an analog meter but a digital will do, across the A1 and A2 terminals. Resistance should be near 0 ohms. While watching the meter, slowly spin the tire and see if the resistance goes up and down.

Then do the same across F1 and F2. Should also be near 0 ohms. No need to spin the tire here.

If the resistance readings jump all over the place, the brushes are bad or have burned through the brush holders as one of mine did. This will cause the erratic operation when the brush unseats from direct armature contact. When you stop, it will reseat for a while.

This will also cause your motor cables to overheat.

Just more info, the pack after charge was 53.3. After pulling out the garage dropped to 50.3

Did it stay at 50.3 for a time and then slowly creep back up to 50.7 or so?

You really need to run it hard for a mile or two, then let it sit for a half hour. Check the voltage after you do this and report back.

Also, check the voltage reading on each battery before and after the run. They should be very close to identical, at least within a tenth of a volt.

Can you explain why they dropped 3 volts just moving a small distance out of the garage

If you checked voltage immediately after charging you are checking the surface charge. The batteries need to sit for a while after charging and that number will slowly come down to around 50.9 if the pack is in good shape.

Driving the cart does essentially the same thing, it drains the surface charge off when a load is applied to the batteries.

Didn't think to ask before, but what year is the cart, and what charger are you using?
