controller cover
I put 2 ga cables on my cart the other day. The controller cover will not fit over the new cables, it is my 2003 DS cart I am talking about. I don't see a problem with it not being covered. All the cover does is keep grass and dust off anyway. It is a golf course cart so I don't think I have to worry about going through deep water. Am I missing anything?

Re: controller cover
Just if you take the inspection cover off to access that area, be sure to cover it or drop the Neg lead first, as I did flip a wrench onto it one time and blew out my controller while installing a rear seat kit....

Re: controller cover
I learned when I first got my cart the tow switch goes to tow, the pos and neg battery cables come off before doing anything to the cart except maybe putting air in the tires.
I took it to our local repair shop and the owner had his boys working on it they dropped a wrench on the motor and took out the controller. They said it just stopped working while it was in the shop. Rather than stir up a stink I just said ok and paid the bill. Of course my cart has not seen that shop again. I found the burnt marks after I got the cart home. I'm retired and just want to be lazy, but sometimes you just have to do things for your self to make sure they are done right. |
