Default Will a Club car motor work with a Ezgo controller?

I'm new to the cart world and trying to learning. Picked up my first project cart, Tag says its a 2010 TXT PDS 36v, guy I got it from did not know much about carts. It was not running when he got it, he messed with it a little let it sit in his yard for a 3 or 4 years before I talked him into selling it to me. Started the tear down and once I got the rear body off saw that it has a club car motor. So I guess someone changed the rear axle to a club car axle with motor. Motor part # 1012191 Mod. 5BC48JB764, but it has a Ezgo PDS Curtis speed controller. wondering of this setup works together? or is that going to be an issue?

I'm probably wrong, but I thought 2009 was the last year 36V PDS cart were made.

If the CC motor is a sepex motor, it'll work, but it might not work very well.

Sepex controllers contain a file known as a Field Map and they are unique to the motor attached to the controller and the PDS controller has a PDS motor Field Map installed, so there is a mismatch between the CC motor and the PDS Field Map.

One solution would be install an Allltrax XCT controller and load the correct Field Map for the CC motor, if you can identify what it is.

Frankencart! Definitely a CC transaxle/motor setup. Brakes and bearings too. A bit of a challenge to service.

An old series motor and transaxle in a sepex cart.
Like hanging a set of balls on a supermodel

Islandrunner please excuse our warped sense of humor. It's not like that here all the time. JohnnieB will lead you in the right direction.

Googled the CC motor's part number and it appears to be a series drive motor, so it won't work with a sepex controller.

No wonder it sat for years.

-----------
You might be able to get that motor running with a series controller and a F/R switch or reversing contactor, but it would probably be less of a challenge to install a sepex type CC motor on the CC transaxle and feed it with a XCT controller. About the only other option is replacing the CC motor & axle with a EZGO motor & axle.

You will need an axle and motor of course to work with that controller.
