Default Deciding between two 25 mph solutions offered by RXV and Onward dealers

Hello all. Thanks in advance for any comments, feedback you can provide.

I am looking to buy an electric 2019 EZGo RXV or a 2019 CC Onward for golf and personal transport around the community. Since we have stretches of hilly roads and courses, I requested quotes from EZGO and CC dealers to include the speed/performance package which will increase the speed from 19mph to 25mph and help navigate the hilly terrain. Here is what they are offering...

Option 1 - For $750, EZGo RXV dealer will reprogram the speed controller to make the car go 25 mph. There will be NO UPGRADE to hardware, i.e., speed controller will still be the stock 235 amp AC controller, stock motor which has 4.4 hp, stock solenoid, stock battery cables. Not sure what gauge. So in other words for $750, the dealer will give me a car that can go up to 25 mph using the same stock hardware that comes with the RXV.

Option 2 - For $1,200, CC Onward dealer will upgrade the speed controller from 250 amps to 400 amps, replace the stock 3.3 hp motor with a heavy duty 5 hp motor and upgrade the solenoid. I believe the battery cables are 4 gauge cables.

Hmm??? Though I don't know much... correction, Though I don't know ANYTHING about golf cars, motors/solenoids/speed controllers, my gut tells me Option 2 is the better deal. Though it will cost me $450 more compared to Option 1, at least I will be getting upgraded hardware. Thoughts?

Thank you.

There's lots of info on the forum and knowledgeable folks who are willing to help out here. Here's a thread that's been going around for a couple of days that might be helpful comparing RXV and Precedent (Onward is just a Precedent with a facelift).

These links are site sponsors (Scottyb and David Hicks) and explain the basics on how to properly upgrade the Onward.

Check out their upgrade packages and you can compare them to what your dealer is offering.
