2008 Rxv brake
My brake is hanging up in my 2008 rxv after putting everything back together from a bearing encoder repair. So i decided to take the break off again, and take the disc out so it doesn't burn up and stink. So my question is, do you even need the disc? I realize i dont have an E brake , but thats ok w me

Re: 2008 Rxv brake
I don't believe it would even pass the startup test. You need a motor brake. If you buy another brake only buy a OEM brake period.

I wonder is someone shut your brake test off? Regen is what is slowing you down.

Re: 2008 Rxv brake
Without a disc in the motor brake, I suggest that you take out a good life insurance policy on yourself for your loved ones. Regen braking will only take you so far. There is nothing to stop it from rolling when the controller is not in control.

Re: 2008 Rxv brake
The manual says to disconnect the battery pack but I don't see any reason to. I just make sure the key is off when I disconnect/connect the brake connector. If you disconnect the battery you just have to reconnect it to finish tightening the brake bolts.
