Default Smoking wire from motor

Yesterday, I was riding down the sidewalk and all the sudden smelled a terrible burning smell. I looked under the cart and saw that the wires coming out of the top/left of the motor were smoking. The wire is white and it is connected to the motor with a blue piece. Can anyone help identify this and let me know what needs to be done to fix it?

It is an EZGo 2015

The dreaded RXV brake...I’m sure some of the experts will chime in here but sounds like it’s cooked. Good luck

The brake probably failed. A dragging brake smells like burning electrics. It will get very hot and the smoke was probably from the brake. In case you aren't familiar with the RXV the brake is the silver thing held on the end of the motor with three bolts. It has one connector with two wires. The brake is a parking brake , it is either on or off, and isn't used for normal braking. Usually the only fix is to replace it.

And if it does need to be replaced only use a OEM brake and not a heavy duty one.
