1999 ezgo 36v wont move
long story short bought this cart as a cheap project, its was needing battery's and some tlc, got brand new battery's i installed them and the cart was working for a few minutes moving slow figured the new battery's needed a charge so i charged it over night no problem. has almost 39v pack voltage wont move forward or reverse... started checking some things...
#1 key switch is bypassed thats not a problem sends power down to the pedal box micro switch sends power the solenoid and activates no problem... check that off the list... #2 pack voltage at the solenoid on both main post at all times is this normal? also tried a new solenoid same thing. resister is working has around 1 less volt on secondary post. #3 controller wiring B+ A2 M- all have pack voltage running to F-R switch B- has ground.. red wire has pack voltage when solenoid activates, orange when set in reverse. white and black are 7 volts, this is a problem if im not mistaken, motor is getting pack voltage but something isnt right not sure if the motor runs on controlled voltage or ground, looking for some help please. 4# ive jumped 12v to the motor and it operates no problem... 5# controller currently on cart is a golframa g633 1206 5 pin 350 amp when in forward and pedal pressed what post on the motor should have power and or ground? THANKYOU FOR YOUR TIME |

If you have pack voltage at M- on controller, check and see if you have pack Voltage at B- on controller with pedal down. Internally the controller closes the circuit between M- and B-, adjusting voltage between the two (based on pedal input) to control motor speed. I think if you have power to M- and none to B- then either controller is not getting proper signal to close or controller is bad. |

Re: 1999 ezgo 36v wont move
OK thank you... should the red power wire going into the controller have pack voltage at it? mine currently does when the solenoid activates. orange gets pack voltage when in reverse, white and black are about 7 volts... b- never gets voltage. would you say this is a controller problem. im about to throw one at it and hopefully fix the problem. motor is getting voltage at post

Re: 1999 ezgo 36v wont move
If it isn't the controller it's often the F/R board that fails. They're the weak link. I replace those quite often.
On an EZ series TXT, in Fwd, key on, pedal to floor, you should get near or at pack voltage between B+ and M- at the controller. this verifies controller output. If you're getting zero or something low like 5-9 volts the controller has failed. If you get near or at reference voltage, but motor isn't turning, the problem is in the F/R switch, motor (which you verified works) or the wiring. The stickies here also have the service manual for these cars. You should be in the section known as non-PDS. there's a flow chart to help troubleshoot. |
