Fleet cart upgrade to DCS?
Hey all, Here is the scenario I have. I have a rental DCS cart that has an upgraded controller from alltrax and an upgraded motor. I also have a Fleet cart that is lifted and will not be rented. My question is, what would be involved in getting the upgraded controller and motor from the DCS into the lifted (non DCS) cart. (and vice versa) We want the better speed and torque that the DCS has and we want to slow that cart down. Putting the fleet components into the rental cart would slow it down quite a bit. I know that we can download the software and get the cable to slow the DCS down, but we would really like to upgrade the lifted cart without shelling out the cash.
My thought was that if we switched the controllers and motors it would accomplish the task. (but, i know it can't be that easy ;) Any help would be great. p.s. I believe these carts are the same year and both are txt. |

Re: Fleet cart upgrade to DCS?
You would need to swap motor, controller, f/r assemblies, solenoid/diode/resistor package, and the chassis wiring harness. The batteries, keyswitch, and charge port can stay.

Re: Fleet cart upgrade to DCS?
Trust me, I thought of that......Mom likes the white body on the lifted cart, and she doesn't like the feel of the steering on the DCS.......I dunno......switching the body and lift still might be easier....but when you get into switching over the whole front end steering components....it feels like a wash....what do you guys think

Re: Fleet cart upgrade to DCS?
Both carts have the same suspension setup, why would the steering be different?

Re: Fleet cart upgrade to DCS?
They just are like two identical cars, they have lived different lives and it shows in the handling.... Honestly though you may want to rethink this? ... you can do it, but it is not worth doing what you are asking IMHO sell one and get what you want...
