86 Resistor Coil Marathon Needs More Power

I have a 86 Marathon 36v with the resistor coil setup, new batteries, 5 inch lift and 22inch strykers, I put new 4ga battery cables on it and according to GPS tops out at about 15 mph. I would like to get more speed and torque from it without going to 48v, I can't seem to find a bigger motor for it, all i find are for the 88's and up. Right now it has a 2hp motor, i'm going to upgrade all the wiring to 4ga. Is thier anyone who makes bigger coils for this applicaton? or will a motor out of a different cart work? Thanks

Welcome to BGW! You can send your motor out to EMP (see site sponsor page) and have them rewind the motor for more speed or torque. It is relatively inexpensive.

That 86 should have a helical gear on the armature shaft (output). The only "bolt-on" upgrade I've ever seen for that one is a field coil kit to bump it up to either 3 or 3.5 hp. No clue if there are any still out there. EMP will take care of you tho'.
