Re: Whine in differential or motor
Those bearins are hard to change as you need a press and the knowledge not to break the casing.Try to find a used mmotor or buy a new one and get some more speed and torque.

Re: Whine in differential or motor
Gotterdun....Thanks for everyone's help..She purrs like a kitten..My '87 EZGO is actually the chasis for a Western I bought new. It has so many bells & whistles it's really hard to work on, but when everything is working, the wet bar is real handy. My golf buds know I do all my own work, and one of the guys already dug a hole in his back 40, with his back hoe, to bury her, and they keep giving me brochures of new carts...they figured She has at least 40,000 miles on her, and I intend to get 40,000 more...if I can just figure out how to keep my own motor bearing workin...It's hard to believe that little bearing can make so much noise....Thanks again...

Re: Whine in differential or motor
One way to check if the whine is in the diff, take the motor off jack the rear up and spin the tires. If you do this and it still has noise then you know it is in the rearend. If not it has to be in the motor.

Re: Whine in differential or motor
Is it safe to jack up a cart using the diff as the jacking point then put stands under the spring mounts?
