Default 1994 medalist goes on its own

Ok Im new to carts but it just started this, when you put it in gear the cart wants to go on its own slow I looked at the f and r switch and when I put it in gear I can see sparks in behind the switch what could it be,

It could be that the solenoid is welded shut. Or the solenoid activation circuit is always complete.

I agree,make sure you put the big heavy solenoid on that old marathon.

I got you mixed up with a marathon but it was a mid-year change.

Ok so the solenoid looks like a ford one 2 side post 2 front post and is round correct. is all the parts on these golf cart specific cause of the 36 v olts or can you use differant parts.

If you use a different solenoid I dont think it will fit under the cover.Besides that nthe kind it has originally is a good solenoid.

Stay with golf cart specific parts. The automotive type are 'momentary' and GC type are 'continuous' duty also mind your voltage ratings.
