I have not had the cart long. Prev owner said he put a heavy duty solenoid on it, im guessing he thought the 48v would be heavy duty for 36v system. No I have not tried solenoid yet, but with t/s it looks to be ok unless Im doing it wrong.

Sounds like some type of thermal shut down to me.

Thats what I am thinking. Was talking about the times it has happened with my wife today and found 1 thing in common. Every time it has done it has been at low speeds. Is there anything like a thermal protection in the motor?

still don't know the answer, but there should be a resistor between the to lg terminals on the solenoid, and a diode between the two small terminals. really think the solenoid might be the the prob since it is only getting 3/4 of the normally needed voltage to keep it working. a hd white rodgers 36v, pn 586 is about $65 and a very good unit. i use one on my 48v cart using 36v to activate it.

most of the time the controller will shut down when it gets to hot and when it cools than back on............i would put the right soleniod on the cart just because.................the diode is good or it wouldn,t work at all and the resistor shouldn,t cause that problem......if you do put the right soleniod on make sure you put diode back on in right direction.......the silver band towards positive..............................

Unless the diode and resistor are made into the solenoid then there isnt either on my cart. Thanks for the feedback. I am gonna put correct solenoid on it. Gonna have to look around to find a parts catolog to get correct part#s for diode and resistor. I bet the guy left the parts off of it, he told me the cart was dcs and its not, no tow switch and no hockey puck for f/r switch.

see if this helps. you probably don't have an axe controller, but they are wired the same.

Yea that helps. Everything is wired and set up the same as your diagram except there is not a resistor or diode at solenoid. Dont know how its working.
