Re: testing contactors 2008 Par Car
The contact is a solenoid. Mounted to the left of the controller about three inches.

Re: testing contactors 2008 Par Car
Make sure the large 16 pin connector is fully pushed into the controller, might want to make sure there's no corrosion in it first though. I attached the wiring diagram which may help you too. There's also a fuse that is about 10 inches or so from the controller, in a black waterproof case about the size of a bic lighter. News: it isn't so waterproof and the connections inside can be corroded too.

Re: testing contactors 2008 Par Car
the 16 pin and fuses all look good. we get a clicking sound from the contactor so that's our target right now. but not exactly sure where to set the testers. Removing the back for better access. Keep you posted. Your help is greatly appreciated.

Re: testing contactors 2008 Par Car
Meter read over 4 then settled to 0.13 then went blank. Is this normal? tried it 2 - 3 times, should the reading stay on?

Re: testing contactors 2008 Par Car
My RV mechanic dropped in and did some testing, the selonoid pos is fine the neg keeps dropping once it clicks in. Theyre going to haul it over to their shop. Will let you know what we find out but he thinks the problem may be in the ground wires.

Re: testing contactors 2008 Par Car
The solenoid positive should have 48V on it all the time. the other side will also read 48 volts until the controller engages it and then the side going to the controller goes to 24V. That makes it possible to use a 24V solenoid.
