Having no knowledge of which is better crimped or soldered 3 years ago when I got my cart. My cables are 2 ga. crimped. There are some connections not tight to end of lug, but crimped well and no shrink tube. I have maintained well and believe using plenty of battery spray connector protector has helped. I spray the copper showing also and reapply each month where needed. Just my opinion.

Why not add some shrink tubing to the gaps? Can pick some up cheap from harbor freight ($1-2)

Not everybody takes care of their cables as well as you do. If they did, there would be far fewer cable problems.

As said earlier, there isn't much electrical difference between a properly constructed cable with crimped lugs or soldered lugs when they are new. The differences start showing up as they age, but by keeping your cable ends sealed air tight with a spray-on protectorate, you've effectively kept your cables from aging.

Sounds like you are taking excellent care of your cart.

The cheap stuff may not seal things air tight. Use adhesive lined marine grade shrink tubing.

Harbor Freight sells marine grade heat shrink. I use it to make my wahoo trolling lures and when I redo them, I check under the heat shrink and non of the cable or crimps ever have corossion after hours upon hours in the salt water
