Default Automotive shocks on yamaha golf cart

I have seen where people have put automotive shocks on golf carts. Some have used Monroe Shocks.
I am lifting my cart 5".
Does anyone know what Monroe shock or other shock will fit on my cart with the lift?

here is the Monroe shock length and mounting pdf . most Monroe numbers are the same as O'Reilly Auto parts number. that way you can cross reference to car make on there website

The only issue is that Yamahas use Coil-Overs,you need to find a coil-over shock, standard auto-shocks won't work. The coil holds the cart up,the shock just smoothes the ride.Ez-Gos and Club-Cars have Leaf-Springs,thats why they use car-shocks.Hope this helps.

Great info. Thanks everyone.
So if the is lift kit is 5 inches tall then the shocks need to be 5 inches longer correct??
So would they need to be 5 inches longer when not mounted on the cart or 5 inches in taller when mounted and the weight is on it.

What is the best shock to go with that can fit a 5inch lift perfect?

Also shock mount extenders, if the lift is 5 inches tall then the shock mount extenders are 5 inches longer?
