This^^^^^ It runs fine as is. It used to be intermittent,now it's all the time.Can it be adjusted? It has been like this for a long time and doesn't bother us that much. Think I should leave well enough alone? It outruns our new Clubcar with code4 installed. Thanks for replies!

I just did mine on a 1994 Marathon, about 1 hour of work. In my case I bought the pot by itself and soldered it in, you can save time by buying the whole speed control. That is more expensive but easier I am sure.

I would go ahead and do it. You can clean the pot but it usually starts acting up shortly after and if you do nothing it will get worse. Remember, the original pot has probably lasted almost a quarter century, so why not just do it.

My cart went from jerky starts and no accelerator after half pedal to just like brand new- just touch the pedal and she slowly begins to move. I love it!

ETA you can clean the pot with a spray electrical cleaner from Radio Shack if you want to try it. It is not easy as the pot is in a small metal case way down near the bottom.

Also shown is the pot itself. Adjusting it is a little tricky, but I used a digital volt ohm meter and that made it easy. "Curtis potentiometer only (for replacement). Universal applications. For E-Z-GO electric 1989-94 pre Medalist."

That year cart does not have a ITS (Inductive Throttle System) like mentioned in another post, it will have a wiper board, or a PB6 potentiometer, Scottyb will get you fixed up

Found it at BGW. Kinda pricey,think I'll wait till I need new batteries-mine are 8years old. Will also upgrade to 4guage wires(already did battery cables) Thanks for all the help!
