Default 1990 EZGO Cart question

Bought a 1990 ezgo cart for $700, and i downloaded a speedometer app for my iphone and it will only go 10mph. Isnt that kind slow? The batteries were from 08 and were refurbishment last year. Is there any quick way to speed it up besides $500 in batteries?

Question Re: 1990 EZGO Cart question

Stock cart with great batteries it will do 12-14MPH. Charge them up a couple of times and see what happens. Is this cart got the controller in it or is it a coil cart?

Thumbs up Re: 1990 EZGO Cart question

1989 is the swap over year but I have seen some coil carts past this year.
My old 89 controller cart. Controller is under the plastic cover between the batteries.

This is what the coils look like. Close up also.

I think it is a controller then. It looks like that. Ill take some pics tomorrow to make sure. Would upgrading the controller be the way to go to get it to go faster?

Question Re: 1990 EZGO Cart question

The controller would get you more torque not so much speed. The only thing for speed is a motor swap or rebuild from PQ or EMP. You can up the voltage to 48 and upgrade all the other components in the system to handle it.
Forgot to mention rear end gears also to speed it up also.
