selenoids click but doesn't move.
87 club car stock. 36v system. All five solenoides are clicking. But cart not moving. I took the bus bar off the 5 solenoids (on the big post of solenoid), and the one white wire that runs to the motor from the master selenoid. With the key on and in forward position and pedal pushed down, I turned my digital tester to DCV 200 and got a reading of 10 on both big posts of the master. I had 1 lead on the negative of the battery and one on the solenoid. Selenoid # 2 I got 405 on both posts, #3 & 4 I got 405 on the back posts & 10 on the front, and #5 I got 405 on both posts. I am trying to figure out if I have a bad coil. Thanks.

Re: selenoids click but doesn't move.
OK. Let me start off simple. What is the correct way to test the master solenoid on an 87 club car. And what volts/ ohms am I looking for on the terminals? Been googling it but really haven't found anything.

Re: selenoids click but doesn't move.
You should read system voltage across the solenoid coil when energized. If it is being energized you can connect the two wires on the solenoid together on either of the big terminals. Or you can jumper them together with a battery jumper cable. It doesn't matter if it is the black or red one that you use. Check to see if the wheels turn. If they do you have a bad solenoid. Verify by removing whichever setup you did and the wheels shouldn't turn when energized. OBSERVE ALL SAFETY PRECAUTIONS WHEN CONNECTING THE CABLE TOGETHER. ESPECIALLY BE SURE TO JACK THE REAR WHEELS OFF THE GROUND. MAKE SURE THE PARKING BRAKE IS ON SOLID.

Just got home from a night of work. When I wake up I will give that a shot.

Replaced the master solenoid and it works. Thanks. I figured that out after taking a wire and jumping the two big posts.
