Default Is it possible...

...to be able to select different performance profiles with a hidden switch?

I bought a stock '14 Precedent and am new to the sparky side of BGW, so all of this electrical stuff is new to me. My plans are to add a lift, wheels/tires, and increase the performance, BUT... I would like to have a hidden switch where I could quickly limit the performance when my kids want to drive it.

Ultimately, I would like to achieve 30+ mph, and from what I've read so far, I will probably go with an Alltrax 500 and a different motor unless I learn something different. But, since kids will be kids (especially teenagers with their friends), I would like to limit them to around the stock speed and performance. Is there a relatively easy way to do this? Thanks in advance for any advice or suggestions!

It is possible with the Alltrax and the switch does not have to be hidden.

Check out the "Mode Lock 3", just set the mode and take the key off:

That's a great idea but probably overkill for what I want. And it would just be another key for me to lose. I would rather just have a 2-position toggle switch if possible...

I believe it is possible to set this up for two choices just with a toggle, which you could put where you like. Speak with Scotty at Cart's Unlimited.

Will do once I'm ready to pull the trigger. Thanks!

I interpreted your comment about "all of this electrical stuff is new to me" as meaning you would prefer a plug-and-play solution.

If You look at the wiring diagrams on the Alltrax site, they all show you how to hook up your own "personality" switch.

Your interpretation is pretty close as I've never really liked any type of electrical work. Mechanical stuff is easy, but electrical stuff gives me a headache trying to wrap my brain around it.

You can do what you want with any on/off switch and with some luck it will take the kids more than a few weeks to find the switch.

I agree. I think the hidden switch had better be a hidden key switch.

Here's what I would do. I would remind them that in a few years that they will be wanting to drive a car. Let them know that how they handle the cart will determine whether they will get a car.
