Default 08 club car weak after going slow

If I ride around slow it will stop and not want to go, if I wait a few minutes it will take off again but it doesn’t want to move slow, I have to hold it wide open and it will go fast, like it over heats or something going slow while spraying weeds, any ideas? New batteries

It sounds like the controller is overheating. Just like a car uses more gas going slow a golf cart uses more electricity going slow which overheats the controller. Maybe mount a fan or get a higher amperage controller.

Golf carts don't like to go slow. Possible the controller or motor is overheating due to the high current through the motor trying to go that slow.

DS or Precedent? Does it have a small rocker switch for FnR or a big lever?

'THERMAL CUTBACK" - If the controller heatsink temperature is found to be in excess of 85 °C ±5 °C (185 °F ±9 °F) or below –25 °C ±5 °C
(–13 °F ±9 °F), the thermal cutback fault is detected. Armature current is reduced in an attempt to cool the controller. Continued usage of the vehicle while in THERMAL CUTBACK, the vehicle may stop entirely and will begin to function again when the controller has cooled to an optimal temperature.

This happens when you drive the cart slowly for long periods of time. As mentioned above, golf carts don't like to go slow. This generates heat in the controller. Aftermarket options like the Alltrax XCT controller are available with cooling fans to help with this issue.
