No Power Under Load
My local mechanic wasn't able to troubleshoot over the phone, calling my issue odd. I'm hoping that someone here can assist.
My 1988 Club Car DS has no power under load. In this I mean that it will ease forward or reverse a few inches and then rock back to starting position. If I jack up the rear end then I have plenty of power. When I set it back down the same issue...simply will not move. Batteries are new and test good. There is a new solenoid as well. I do not detect anything wrong with the resistor coils. Thank you in advance for your assistance. |

Re: No Power Under Load
how did you "test" the batteries ?.....hook up your volt meter across the pack and measure voltage , should be 39. something , then push the go pedal and see how far it drops under load....
and , did it run ok before ?....take picks of everything you can under the seat.... and double check wiring... |

Re: No Power Under Load
I disconnected each and tested them individually. Each is at 6.4 and full charged.

Re: No Power Under Load
Thank you! I'll try that as well. It was running fine and we allowed someone to borrow it for a few days. When I went to pick it up it wouldn't move as is now. This is an old and slow jacked up cart that would run up and down the island all day at a constant speed. I'm not sure if these folks did something stupid or if it was just the timing. We live on an bridge less island so it is difficult to get a mechanic out here. Batteries are five month old Powertrons.

Re: No Power Under Load
Sounds like you have a bad battery connection.
The "roll a little then shut off" is because the voltage to the solenoid is dropping out due to low supply from the pack. You need to check the pack voltage while trying to drive and see how much it's dropping. With new-ish batteries the best reason for that kind of behavior is a loose connection or damaged cable or crimp terminal. If the battery posts have any dirt or corrosion on them remove ALL of the cables and clean them thoroughly and check each cable for loose ends. |

Re: No Power Under Load
if all is good with voltage , I would open up the VGlide next and make sure all is well in there....
