2001 Club Car DS Series WITH MCOR Intermittent issue
Hello all I have 2001 ds with the series controller and ds MCOR. The issue is as follows. The solenoid always clicks when pedal is depressed, the cart will sometimes start running fine and other times it does nothing but click. The cart will then randomly at any given moment take off based on how much throttle you have. The cart will run fine for a little and then no power. It will also just take off shut down, take off shut down, rapidly making the cart shake in place aggressively. When the cart properly engages it has plenty of power and runs well. I pulled the motor and check the brushes and tested continuity to check for motor shorts and everything tested well. The cart also has a new F&R installed by someone else that assumed that was the issue.
Does this sound like the series controller starting to fail? What do you guys think? Any help is appreciated if I don't find it out myself haha. Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk |

Re: 2001 Club Car DS Series WITH MCOR Intermittent issue
It does sound like a controller issue to me. I've seen series controller fail this way often. Once they age, they'll start to lose output, especially when you use them for a while and they heat up.

Re: 2001 Club Car DS Series WITH MCOR Intermittent issue
I have a series motor that I am going to swap out. I already swapped the MCOR and tested the solenoid etc so if the motor swap doesn't fix it then I am going with bad controller.

Re: 2001 Club Car DS Series WITH MCOR Intermittent issue
Typically, a motor either works like it's supposed to or it doesn't work. If you end up needing a controller, I suggest the Alltrax SR-48300. It's a 300 amp controller and it uses the same footprint as the factory controller (just use longer bolts). It comes with a 2 year warranty.
