The 2 amps reading would be too low for the OBC to be operating, but it may just be the old charger meter not being that accurate anymore.
As mentioned when you disconnect the batteries for more than 10 minutes the OBC will reset and the next charge or two will take a little longer.
Until one of those "baseline" charge cycle finishes on its own the OBC will continue to try to profile the batteries, after that it will keep track of the amount of energy being removed from the batteries and the next charge cycle will take much less time.
You also need to remember when adding a DC converter for your lights that the negative wire needs to be connected to the Controller B- and not the pack negative battery post, that way the OBC will keep track of the current being used by the converter.

Thank you for all the info. I do have the converter already but it's only a 10 amp so I think I'm going to hold off on installing since I don't think it will be enough for both the headlights and the taillights.. unless you think otherwise?
