![]() Okay, I am installing an axle lift and have the new one on. My question is: the king pin tube is not cooperating with me going back in, so do I just bang the hell out of it till it does go back or am I not doing something that I should be? Also what is that plastic piece under the cowl? Is it just for looks and can I remove it?

![]() Matt, I never worked on ez's but two ideas from your pictures. Is the steering maybe binding as you try to insert tube? Maybe try putting the tube in the freezer and warming the spindle bracket. Good luck.

![]() I recently put the same axle in my 2000 workhorse and one side wouldn't fit. I found the powder coating had built up around the edges. You can look for this problem on yours .... if you can feel it with your finger just use a deburring tool to clean it up. I used a a drill press to redrill mine.... but it was all powder coating that came out ..... Good luck.

![]() I am and I do but not on this computer? Not sure it is same as your's. It is 4 inch lift and 4 inch wider. I put 2 inch wheel spacers in the rear to even out. I like the wider stance.

![]() I thought about doing that myself. I still might, just depends how it turns out. I think the wider stance would look cool.

![]() Well I tried to get the tube out when I got home last night and it was in there pretty good. So I decided to go ahead and pound that sucker in till it was down all the way. Thankfully that was all it took. scottyb I got the 5" lift, not sure if it is wider like yours yet. I will definately know by tonight when I get the back finished up. Thanks for all the help guys.
