![]() Does anyone know anything about resistor carts, if I'm even spelling it right. Is there any upgrades for them I have a customer with a 2003 cc 36 volt that wants to increase the torque. Never messed with one any info would help.

![]() Could add 48volts to the 36volt motor but then you need a new charger. Or you can convert it to a controller cart.

![]() He's not a cart nut like us so I'm just going to tell him to be happy with what he has or sell it and get another cart. Thanks for help.

![]() I installed 4 gauge wires and a manual 2 speed motor on my 36 volt resistor cart?fair amount of gain in torque and the top speed was 17.3 mph. One thing to remember is that you will still have a 6 gauge wire located on the wiper arm?inside the V-Glide?weak link there?I then upgraded to 48 volt and installed a high amp motor?melted the resistor coils and V-Glide?put a standard upgraded motor in with less amp draw?melted the V-Glide again?this was due to driving slow pulling heavy weight with the cart?he can add two batteries to the bag well and charge them with a 12 volt charger and still charge the main pack from the 36 volt charger?that is about the cheapest way for him to go?

![]() I've got an '89 resistor cart. I sent the motor to PQ for a bandit upgrade ($225 +shipping), went to 4 G wires (****.com for $72 - great service, all custom sized and lugged, all marine grade cable), bought 23" Desert Duros on 12" spoked wheels from Ebay ($370). I now get 25 mph and fantastic acceleration. The guys at PQ said the system would handle 48V too with only having to change the solenoid.
Since the wire company is not a sponsor, I didn't post the name. I'm not sure of the rules, if I can reccomend them here. |
