I doubt that ANY CART FRAME will stand up to the kind of usage you are trying to put them through? Yes aluminum frames dont stand up to too much flexing, but they were not designed for that use to start with? Remember as SCOTTYB said and I agree "carts are made for 2 people , 2 golf bags and smooth semi flat ground for less than 30 minutes of operation" at a time.
NOT a 4X4 off road special vehicle with double boxed frames, roll over bars and high HP engines with mult shock supension and hug bead locked tires. If you want that kind of performance buy a off road vehicle not a golf cart.

I own 3 4 wheelers, an amphibious 6 wheeler, and a huge off-road purpose built truck. Unfortunetly the new 2300 acre hunting club I lease only allows golf carts no atv of any kind due to insurance reasons. Plus anybody can go buy a atv but not everybody can build a golf cart like the one im working on. I will build it to where it wont break. I truly have more fun on the club car than any atv I have owned its unique, rides better, is quitter, and carry's more people for starters. Im not disagreeing with you at all. These carts where meant to be run on low cut grass on a golf course not through 2ft of water. I have some unique circumstances which make this build up necassary. Please in the future if you dont have any useful info on how I can improve my cart just stay out of my thread. I can bash myself Thanks

You need to ( explain what you are using the cart for), rather than just what you think is wrong with parts involved in problem?

HRM, I understand, fact is more than a few of us wish we could go with. I too am building something off road worthy out of a golf cart. The reason I mentioned what I did about the limits of aluminum and flexing is because I learned that first hand through many aluminum trailers and golf carts .... I am sure you can beef it up to where it will do what you want. The light weight is often worth it... I for one think you have a real good grasp on what you are doing and what you are up against... That should be obvious by your avatar alone ...
You've been doing it long enough

I had an '86 DS that had 2 through cracks on the frame from offroading.I think part of the reason was too stiff of suspension and my 14 year old son driving it a little hard.

I agree. I am working on a coilover suspension setup front and rear. I was really just looking for some ideas on beefing things up. I know im not the first one to do it. Thanks guys Thomas
