You'll never get a CC frame to take the abuse an ezgo frame will, aluminum is for beer cans and pie pans.
The longer workhorse frame is the ticket, they flex real well without snapping apart.

Ive got some big plans for my frame. Im stripping the cart apart this weekend. Im cutting the frame in two just behind the front suspension and welding in a 1/4" plate to each half. These two halfs will bolt together and give me adustable ride height without moving the axle forward like a z bracket lift. The rear is getting adjustable leaf spring mount so I can move the axle back in order to get more tire clearance. Im adding a mount so I can get rid of the rubber snubber and use a hiem joint instead. Then welding a 1/4" aluminum plate under the cart to protect the entire undersde from abuse. This will also stiffen the fram I suspect. I am going to try and make the plate bolt on so I can work access the brake cables etc easily if needed. Roll cage soon to follow. My 4 28 x12 mudlites arrived yesterday. Im pulling the differential out this weekend to finally install the low speed gears and weld the diff up. Then mounting 3000lb winches one front and one rear. Seat will be here this week, waiting to get a clutch puller and get the drive clutch rebuilt and machined. The 18hp vanny will have to sit in the crate for awhile longer. 30" mudlites in the near future but I want to see how the coilovers come out. Why buy a Rhino when you can build a club car?

Most if not all the dump bodies I see on straight trucks and dump trailers are aluminum not to mention flat bed semi trailers. Also Kenworth and Peterbilt sometimes use aluminum frame rails on their trucks . I see it used for a lot of things but you can bend the heck out of steel too so I dont buy that argument. As far as ScottyBs comment, a man I talked to in the Outer Banks liked the ClubCars aluminum frame because around the salty air they dont rust. Besides I see steel rusting faster than aluminum oxidizing.Lastly it may have cracked from extreme abuse like mine likely did. I spoke with Tom at CPP about my broken frame when I was deciding on my next cart being either EZ-GO or Club Car and he claims he beats on his and has never broken a frame and Im sure hes built more carts than most people. I dont know what his definition of beating on it is, but I know we were pretty hard on ours. My 2 cents.

I like the aluminum frame for all the obvious reasons. I run this cart through the salt marshes some and like you said steel rust must faster than aluminum oxidises. It is lighter which is also a plus. I like steel because it is easier to weld on however it does bend instead of crack and it will rust out pretty quick where im at. It just kind of depends on what you plan on doing with the cart and personal preference I guess. It wouldnt take much and ill wip up a tube frame for my buggy to sit on.

Yeah, like the rock crawler guys. You got to build it to suit what your doing and yours is on its way.

Yep just bolted the 28's on it. Man this thing is HUGE the floorboards measure 24" off the ground. I can fit a 5 gallong bucket under the front suspension.
