![]() I've got a G16 that I'm going to put a 6" lift on with 22" tires. It doesn't have a back seat on it yet. Should I worry about beefing up the rear suspension now or later (or ever). I have a friend with a G9 that lifted 7" has a back seat, stock spring and hasn't had many issues, but looking for thoughts.
Thanks |

![]() I would install the HD leaf. Harsher ride, but cheap insurance to avoid issues later.

![]() A buddy and I bought a pair 2011 G29’s with 6” Jake’s spindle lift and they had the rear seat kits already installed. The first thing we realized we needed to do was to install the HD spring kits. Yes the ride is a little stiffer now, but they help to keep all four tires on the road. Good Luck.

![]() Yes you should beef up the stock shocks. (G16's don't have leaf springs people)
Flip flop seats are heavy, then you add a couple of 150-200 people, now your talking an additional 400-500 lbs on the back. For your riders and the cart to be safe, you need the Jakes HD springs for the stock shocks. And, its much easier to put them on before you install the seat. |

![]() I sort of figured that was the answer. For those that have added them, are they pretty simple? No need for compression or anything?

![]() After installing the HD springs as I mentioned before, the ride got stiffer. To try and compensate for this I had the bright idea of just lowering the tire pressure to make the ride softer. The listed pressure in the owner’s manual is 16psi but after checking the tire rating on the tires the cart came with the max is 12psi cold. (Madjax MJFX 23 X 10.5 – 12 Predator) At 12psi with four adults onboard the ride can be squirrely at best. With this low pressure and soft sidewalls the rim has quite a bit of side to side movement inside the tire. I like the look and size of the tires but would like a better quality and more rugged sidewall tire. Any suggestions from experience would be appreciated. Good Luck.

![]() No spring compressor needed, you cut the old coil springs with an air grinder (or such) slip over the new HD coil spring, install the upper retainer then there are 1/2 moon collars that go at the bottom of the new spring to keep them tight.
