Driven clutch came apart
The driven clutch on my 91 Marathon came apart while my kids were driving it.
It appears the snap ring just came out of the groove. A quick look at the snap ring and the groove shows no obvious issues. Anyone ever heard of a clutch just suddenly coming apart like that? I put a stiffer spring in the clutch last year. I'm fairly certain I had it all back together correctly. It ran just fine for almost a year. It looks like I can just reassemble it, but now I'm a little concerned it will just happen again. Thoughts? |

Re: Driven clutch came apart
I put the clutch back together today and drove it without any problems. Has anyone ever heard of the snap ring popping out on one of these? It seems very strange. I treated the thing like a ticking time bomb after releasing it from the press until I got it installed back on the cart. I was afraid it might let loose at any minute.
