2015 Yamaha Drive- AC or DC?
Purchased a 2015 Yamaha & getting it delivered next Thursday. I was under the impression all newer g29's had AC motors but I now know not all do. I know it has the toggle switch on the dash for F/R & it has 6 8V batteries. It does not have the AC sticker on the side & does not have factory lights (Fleet model, maybe?).
How can I tell if it's AC or DC? Thanks! |

I believe production started in 2015. The one's I have seen have an AC sticker on them in front of the rear wheels. Pretty sure the AC motored carts have a Toyota speed control and the DC motored carts do not (Yamaha built speed control). So assuming Toyota stamped their name/logo on the speed control you could tell that way.

My 2012 Drive had a Moric speed control and Hitachi motor. Not made by Yamaha.

I believe it is. Same as a DC motored cart.

Yep, same switch setup as DC carts. Easy way to tell, look at the motor housing. If the housing has 4 long bolts tying the aluminum end caps together, it's the Ac motor. This picture is actually a Rxv motor but Yamaha AC motor is very similar with 4 long bolts down the sides.

Finally got some time w/the cart & discovered it's a Hitachi DC motor. Was hoping for AC! Now need to figure out which controller to get because it is sloooooooooooow. Thanks for yall's help!
