Default Re: 1997 G16a clutch weight broken off

Same thing happened to me and I preferred to change the whole clutch by the one of CartsPartsPlus (sponsor). Except I had to install 3 helicoil on it, I am quite satisfied...

Being in Philippines, not easy to order parts, reason why I preferred to change all the clutch...

I have a 2001 lifted I call Don from Plowsman's he said my clutch was bad it was a stock gold one. I got a new one from him. He said my clutch wasn't good for rebuilding. He said my clutch if I kept it he said it may blow up or make his setup under perform.

When I got ready to put my motor back in the cart I noticed the dents in the cover and found that I had a broken weight . I was all set to purchase a Gboost clutch , then found an ad on Craigslist for yamaha take offs for a very good price , almost half of the Gboost . He also has an ad on ebay as well . The clutches are brand new and was swapped out in Florida for after market high performance clutches and gear change in the rear ends for street driving . Anyone looking for a OEM clutch send me a PM and I can give you the information .

Also. When I took the belt off I noticed where it's been rubbing against the frame. Doesn't seem normal to me. Is it? What would cause this?

Worn, loose, sloppy belt.

The rubbing is of no huge concern, the belt is supposed to have slack in it when at rest. Your clutch was a stock style G16-G22, it's scrap metal now. I would go through the rear clutch while you are in there (new bushing & seals, and inspect for a dish in the sheaves).

There is a dish in the bottom of the sheave. Ordered my primary from Don a few hours ago. Might call back and get the secondary to.
