Yamaha G1 rear end governer delete
I'm taking my differential off today and opening it up to lock it(run it thru lots of mud) and I want to delete the governer inside it as well. my question is, is this mechanism(the one inside the diff) the same one that is controlled by the governer on the throttle cable next to the carburetor? I'm asking because it seems like the carb opens to full throttle even with the governer on it and yet it doesn't just keep pushing the rev's. I guess it's more of a wanting to know how it works than needing to know kind of question. I would appreciate if anyone could enlighten me.

Re: Yamaha G1 rear end governer delete
If you rev the engine with the gov enabled you will see the throttle open completely. When it reaches a certain rpm it throttles down with a spring even though you are still holding the gas down.
