Default Starter/Generator flip-flop

Since I'm installing a sled engine, I have found it easiest to install the starter/generator backwards on to the swingarm and run a belt. However, if I do that, in forward my reverse buzzer and lights will be on, but not in reverse.

I'm just wondering if I can switch certain wires on the starter/generator or on the soienoids to make it right. I'm not concerned on what way the key is turned to determine forward/reverse, just so that when I'm in reverse, the lights and buzzer are on then rather than in forward.

Not sure what lights you're talking about but you can unhook the reverse buzzer

I'm not for sure on this but switching your wires on the solenoids should make your starter generator switch rotation so forward would be reverse but keep the buzzer and lights on when put into reverse

What ones does you have older ones where connections are only on front or round ones with connection on front and back?

I have the older ones... but if that's all I need to switch, that's fantastic. I was thinking I had to switch the leads on the motor or something. Much appreciated!

I won't be able to give it a go for a couple more days, though. The swingarm goes back in today hopefully if I can get the starter mounted!
