So I got the Yamaha lift kit and plan the install over long weekend. Also a rear seat. My question is do I need HD springs? I'm using the cart around the yard ,but plan on hauling decoys and friends out to the pit/duck blind this fall. I'm assuming the answer is yes.

I just got my 2" kit in today. Unfortunately, the golf cart shop is picking up my cart today as well to install a street legal light kit so I won't be able to install the lift for several days.
Seems pretty easy and straightforward to install. I think I am going to go ahead and get the hd springs while I am at it.

PingEye Thanks for the pictures. Made the job a lot easer. The directions that came with the kit were not very good Thanks Again!

I just put this kit on my 2014 with 14" wheels and street tires. Is everyone switching out their tie rods on the '14 and newer carts? Is it just about the stud length, or 8s there some other difference with the old style tie rod? My factory nuts have some sort of internal keepers and there looks to be enough thread left to get a 2nd jamb nut on, if the only concern is stud length...it just seems hard to justify the extra expense and pissing away perfectly good tie rods, just to be able to have the cotter pins, given the alternatives to still secure it.... just wanting to make sure I'm not missing something else of importance. Thanks

Would heavy duty leaf springs fit on the rear with your 2" factory lift? Where did you get the lift, a local dealer? I like the look with the 21.5" tires and ability to keep the tight turning radius.

If you have a Drive (G29) there aren’t leaf springs, there’s coils, and my cart has HD springs for the rear seat and passengers.

That shows my knowledge of Yamaha! Lol

So do you have to order HE coils for the back separate from the lift kit?

I like the factory 2" lift... Right up till I see the price! lol. Any where to get it under $300?

If not, what the best 3" lift out there? I like the ride quality of the A-Arm lifts on other carts, they feel safer. What 3" lift for a Yamaha g29 is proceed right and keeps a tight ride?

Coils are separate, about $100. I paid about $250 on Ebay. Not sure on other 3" lifts, but do like the A-arm I put on my club car.
