Charging volts using an old Lester charger?
I've been messing with my new to me '81 G1 recently that came with an old Lester 8714 timed charger. In my searches around this forum and other websites I see that most automatic chargers turn off when charging voltage gets around 45 or 46 volts...
I've been using a DVM hooked up to the pack while charging and after a while I'm seeing voltage of just over 47 - with about 15 amps still reading on the charger. To me, by the voltage the pack seems charged, but by amps it seems like there's still a ways to go. Also, I had to replace the DC cord on the charger because the previous owner was rough with it. The replacement cord/end looked to be 12 ga wiring, while to original looks to be 10 ga? Thanks for any info you guys may have! |
