Default Yamaha g2 Top end oiling

Can somebody explain to me how the rocker galley gets oiled on a Yamaha g2? And maybe provide a routing diagram or show how their hoses are run? I recently rebuilt it and it runs great except for overheating before to long. I’m suspecting the top end isn’t oiling properly and want to rule that out. So new hoses will be used, but I want to make sure that they are properly connected thanks!

There is a finger on the connecting rod that forces oil up thru a hose into the cylinder head.

Can I test it by just spinning it over with the cover off?

There’s nothing coming out of what I assume is the oiling hose. Any idea what could cause this? I’ve been turning it over with spark plug out , and ran it briefly and nothing came out

Is this the finger you’re referring to? Which direction relative to the engine should it face? The only thing I can think of is that I but it in the facing the other way. So does it work by splashing oil up and then the crankcase pressure forces it up through the hose?

That is it. More likely that the hose or passage is blocked than the splash fin is not installed correctly.

Yep. It's not like mega pressurized like an oil pump would be, but I know first hand if the clamp on th hose between that line and the head isnt tight, it can make quite a mess. I'd check ti make sure it isn't blocked.
