23 HP Vanguard

I think I have decided to go with a 23 HP Vanguard for MY G16 Yamaha Cart. There are so many different models with 627 cc 23 HP to choose from, ranging from $1100 to $2300. Can someone help me with which one to get? About the only thing that might be useful from a kit would be the clutch and extended Belt, I think?

I would go with the CPP kit. Gives a 3 year warranty and takes all guess work out of installing. It's worth a few extra bucks to not have to deal with all the extra time measuring, fabricating, adjusting, etc.

Is the cart already lifted? A Vanguard swap is pretty straight forward in a G16. If you do a search on " vanguard G16 " theres a few threads that go over this conversion. Buying a complete kit from Cart Parts Plus might be the way to go if you want to save some time. If you decide to buy the engine and fab everything thing else yourself just make sure it has a 1" straight shaft.

Agreed, I've done a few CPP kits, 18hp and 23hp. No guess work, no screwing around, in a few hours you won't be able to stop smiling!!
