Default G1 start/stop switch

Can anyone tell me how to bypass a G1 start/stop switch? Mine is acting up intermittently. For a quick fix I was going to unplug the black/white wire so it can idle. Can these switches be taken apart and cleaned? I have looked for a new one but have not found one. Will one from another Yamaha model work? Going to be flogging it hard this week so any help or suggestions would be great.

I sprayed mine down with contact cleaner then some wd40 and let it dry been ok since. There are aftermarket ones out there but they are like the key switches and carbs for the G1, hit and miss.

If you do unplug the wire at the CDI for maintenance mode, dont let it idle long. It will over heat.

Great, thanks for the info, I will tear mine down, clean it up and see how it goes. I dont want to fool with cheap switches and will rewire it with good parts if I have to. I need the cart to get me through next week.
