Default 99 CC lost spark, is there a standard trouble shooting procedure

Working on a 99 CC limo. I swapped out both of the belts, it started and ran great, took it around the block, parked it and now it has no spark. What's the best trouble shooting procedure.

Depends if it’s a key start or a pedal start.

Pedal start, motor turns over when depressed just no start. I had micro switches so I replaced them just to see. Shouldn't the magneto just send spark?

Yes, it’s a magneto so all it needs is the motor to turn over to make a spark. The coil has a kill wire that meets with a white/ black stripe which is connected to the lower micro switch in the throttle box, and the Key switch for ignition kill with pedal Up or Key Off.

The first check would be to find the Brown ground wire on the rev limiter and disconnect that to check if the limiter has failed. That’s the small black box on the front of the engine below the head. The wire is bolted to the mount bracket, just unbolt it.

If it starts after that, the limiter failed and you can leave it disconnected as long as you don’t over-rev the engine. Replacements are expensive.

If no start still, disconnect the Black wire from the White/black at the junction near the oil fill tube. (Bullet connector with clear weather-pack insulation)
If it starts with the kill wire disconnected, then it’s a wire issue or switch. If no start, still no spark, then the coil has failed. The best replacement is a genuine Kawasaki from Club Car. The cheapo China ones are junk.
