Repair cam gear camshaft
I was reading on older threads and realized I needed to fix the cam gear . I removed the motor from the cart. Is there any threads or a site that tells me where other go from here? Where to start to split the motor to even get to the cam gear. Thanks

Re: Repair cam gear camshaft
If you have never been in any type of internal combustion engine I would suggest start watching videos on how they work, why they work that way and how the parts work with each other.
And pick up a service repair manual. So, what's wrong with your cam gear? |

Re: Repair cam gear camshaft
After trying to remove the clutch, my clutch puller got stuck in the hole. It was the two piece puller, not the single long one with threads on it. The bolt that was sent with it I guess needs to be longer to keep pushing the rod in to pop the clutch off? Anyone with experience with this, will a longer bolt work? Or am I just screwed now. I do not have torches to try and heat it up. I pack with grease what I could to try, but it didn’t work. Any advice?

The cart got hit , it broke the welds, so I figured it broke the rivets on the cam gear as well. That’s what other posts and users also told me .

Re: Repair cam gear camshaft
first thing to do is use a flashlight and see if you have run out of threads in your clutch for your puller.
if so, measure the depth from the top of the bolt hole to the top of the pusher pin you have stuck. Using a 3/8" bolt, cut a spacer from the unthreaded shaft that leaves 1/2" of usable thread in the clutch. Screw the top part of your puller back in and should pop off. And I would be really surprised if the rivets on the cam were knocked loose. |

Re: Repair cam gear camshaft
So what is the original problem that lead you to think the rivets?

Re: Repair cam gear camshaft
The clutch puller broke off. ☹️ Sheered right off the end of the clutch. Is there a way to salvage this motor? Can I cut off the clutch without damaging the shaft? How far out does the shaft come? If I were to cut it off, I’d the best place to cut right behind the big part of the clutch right before where the belt rides?
Anyone know where to get a replacement engine. I see them on eBay for 700$ plus my core |

Re: Repair cam gear camshaft
I was able to get the clutch off. I did find broken rivets. They were sitting in the Bolton of the pan .
