Default 2004 Columbia Elite (Parcar) No Reverse

Need your help.
The cart won't move in reverse. it will move an inch and stop. Forward works fine. If I jack the rear, and press on the accelerator to reverse, the wheels will spin. But once on the ground , it won't move in reverse.

I replaced the Solenoid / the controller/new batteries 8v x6/ new potentiometer and still no luck.

2004 Columbia Elite (Parcar).

Controller: 1205M
Switch: SW182
Motor: 2004 Columbia PAE

The solenoid is new and batteries are also new

Please advise!!!

You have a sepex motor in your cart. The one it is supposed to have is a series motor as shown in the wiring diagram.

Let's see is a Columbia specialist can help you through this repair.

I was able to resolve the issue by not connecting the A2 from the controller 1205M, see below diagram I created:

Please let me know if it is ok toot use the A2 from the controller.

I'm not sure what might happen hooked up like that. You may well damage the controller in that configuration.

Also, the small field winding in the sepex motor cannot handle the amps you are putting into it. The field winding will burn out.

The easiest way, although not the cheapest, is to get a series motor.

Check the for sale section. There may be some for sale if someone converted their cart to IQ or AC drive.
