Default EZGO or Yamaha that is the question

Pros and cons. I'm going to post this here and in Yamaha section.I have an 88 ezgo now, but going to upgrade. I have a 91 G8 yamaha and a 96 tuff1 ezgo. I'm wanting one for mainly hunting and light off road, Whish one would be the best, The other one will just be for a backup or a yard toy.(I have 10 acres). The Yamaha seems like it would be better for off road use with the independent front end and the semi independent 3 point rear end.the EZGO will get a repower as there is only half an engine in it. The yamaha will stay fairly stock with just a couple power improvers.
So what do you guys think???

YAMAHA for off road they come already set up front and rear coil over shocks. and on the G8 already has a 3 link set up before you even start. Yamaha all the way. also the stock motors are strong i would make the Ezgo the yard beater...

Probably not a lot of people jumping in here because this is as new as a Ford vs Chevy debate... and about as conclusive too. I always say go with what is most readily available in your area.. I would drive a Ferrari but I just can't get parts easy and cheap locally
Yami and Ez are the 2 best carts you can't go wrong with either.

Start looking at the modifications you will need to have the cart you want for each use, then price out the parts for both carts and see if your budget can handle it. Having a standby cart that cant do what your primary cart can do could be a hassle when one breaks down. If you build either cart with the right parts, you'll be happy. So the real question is which one is most cost effective to build. I know the Yamaha will definitely ride smoother but the EZ-GO parts are a little less expensive.

Good points from both of you guys,But I guess i'm lazy as I didn't take very long sea.ching. Asl I only needed a few more post to start getting wild and thought this would help. It did alittle, now I'm getting wild
To be honest I like both. I already picked up a 5" dropped axle lift kit for the ezgo for a buck 20 to the door , I'm going to make the one for the yamaha, because they are a little pricey, and my time is free to me. I love my 88 2PG . there is a -7 degree wind chill outside today and it still started.

I actually like this thread.
I like Yamahas better but ended up with a workhorse because the G11's and Umax's are so expensive in my area.
Then, once I priced everything to get the Yami or Ez-go to the point I wanted to get to, the Ez-go won the battle.
So, Scotty's and Airtech's points are real good!
Bottom line my Ez-go was the economic solutioin at the time and at this point, there's just not a lot of Ez-go left

Let me elaborate on my choice of EZGO!! I have not currently owned a Yammi to date, so I don't know if my response will help seein as it's one sided. I have never failed to find an abundance of endless upgrades and parts that were more than affordable for the EZGO's. Here in AL there are several EZGO dealers in my surrounding area so that really helps. With that being said, the internet and BGW have helped us all save money by utilizing the help they provide. In a nutshell, the EZGO's I have owned have always been reliable, parts and repairs have been easily obtainable and it has performed at or above the level of any other cart it has been up against. I'm not knockin' a Yammi, I only have knowledge in depth with the EZGO's. Maybe this helps. Good Luck with the decision, I think you'll win either way.
