Default 87 ezgo clutch parts/help kohler swap

I have an 87 marathon with a 2pg engine. I am replacing the motor with a 9hp Kohler and thought it would be easier to machine up a new drive clutch pulley shaft than make an adapter so I pressed the shaft out of the pulley. When I tried to press it back together I realized my mistake; looks like it was not pressed together but instead was assembled using temperature differential (heated pulley/cooled shaft).
Has anyone else tried re-assembling these parts? Any insights on how it can be done?
If not, I am in the market for a stock pulley/shaft combo. Anyone got something lying around?
I am pretty confident I can machine up an adapter for 7/8 keyed shaft (Kohler) to tapered pulley; will keep you posted.

Not a reply but a followup.
Purchased a used clutch from LVS SALES (High Five to them for their help and info) and machined up an adapter to mount it to the kohler. Then went to work on the suspension (mounted pressurized shocks from a 400 ATV), DOT tires and moved the drivers compartment up about 4 feet and back over the differential; quite Dr Seuss looking. Worked great for two weeks in the desert at Burning Man (had 17 people on it at one time!). But now I desire a reverse. I've been searching info on the best differential swap and and having trouble finding the correct threads...can anyone help me out?

You will need a four stroke rear axle and the appropriate cables to attach the F/R to the diff.

I'd like to see pics.

Will you have reverse or electric start?
